    Pour farmer

I did talk with some us buyers recently. If you
phone the people from your previous post, I think
you will find the organic feed barley prices around
    US $. 8.00 -$9.00/ bushel, loaded car,FOB Sask
siding origin. This is for 48 pound barley, you
must have a full rail car volume I think that is
    approx 4133 bushels
USA buyers usually pay in us dollars. I make my
exchanges at custom house currency exchange in
    Saskatoon.

There may be bids for fob farm I just called US
buyers. Basically a rail car is a grain bin on
wheels. Auger with spout, grain trucks, weigh
your loads dump them in. Close the lids seal
them, then immediately fax in the release form to
      the rRR company.
B trains are far more convenient, usually lower
      priced due to freight costs.

BTO is correct. Do not overweight a rail car. I had
over loaded peas by 36 bushels. They charged
me overweight, disconnect fee on rail car in
Winnipeg rail yard, I had to phone around to
find/pay a guy to open lids and pail, off the 36
bushels, then pay a daily demmurage and a rail
car reconnect fee. It was my neighbors peas and I
asked him if he scaled the peas why was he
over? Answer, he only had the corners left in his
truck and did not want to have to bring that home
and deal with it. So.... He paid the price it don't
recall exact costs but I think it was $3200.00 in
total. Come to think of it, shortly after that
education the overweight fines were changed to
          $10,000 for producer cars.
I have loaded about 50 rail cars over the years
and it goes very well if you do it according to the
          rules.

Oats and barley 10 cars per year for 5 years.
This includes helping neighbors makes sales into
the US. In the RMs Where I farm, it is highly
competitive with very large acre efficient farmers. I
am just kicking around with organics.

It was mostly thistle bolls, dandelion fuzz, and
screenings. Overweight was seldom an issue!
