    Weather Derivatives

    Charlie what do you think of these weather derivatives (FIMAT)? Do you know anyone who has tried them and how well did they work?

    I am not aware of any weather derivatives available for smaller clients. I know they are being used to offset some of the risk of weather based crop/forage crop insurance products offered by AFSC (others comments that are more familiar).

    My thoughts will be good products in the future to help farm managers offset weather risk. There has been discussion in other threads that we can rejuvenate.
