Not sure what the real ownership chain has been at
Bentley. First it was Healthy Herds, presumably an
independent company, then it was Newco
Commodities, then it seems like it was called
something else for a while and only recently it's been
Marketplace commodities. Through all this it's been
run by the same staff and the guy that presumably
owned the business originally. Nice people and I'd be
inclined to trust them but that's easy for me to say as
I only buy from them - they always cash the cheques
      no problem lol.

It actually did impact the cattle industry (or at least those who signed contracts). Many of the buyers forward purchased feedgrains to lock in margins/breadevens only to find the grain not available/having to go to the more expensive cash market to replace. Needless to say, their feeding margins went south. A part of the process is to work through the issue of existing contracts with growers (likely at lower values) and feedlots who had forward priced (ralizing their is a company in the center. A big gray area so will do the civil servant soft shoe. CGC bonding only applies to grain that has been delivered and their is payment outstanding.

Some discussion about a clearing house in the past but where it really benefits the industry is the ability to cover forward sale transaction risk for both the producer and end user.

GF, that Bentley is Healthy Herds is
correct and owner of business and
              partnership with Market Place Commodity
Ltd. Just seeing they are making canola
meal and wheat into grinding and smell
              good.

And the in between stage was called Newco Grain,
Bentley. It changed from Newco Commodities,
Coaldale to Newco Grain. Don't know if that was the
whole Newco outfit or just Bentley that changed
names at that point. I get suspicious when a business
                changes it's name too often.

Last spring Newco was sourcing large quantities of winter wheatfrom SE Sask for delivery into Winnipeg area (colonies and feed mills). They also were looking for barley; and why not; they didn't pay for hundred of super b loads.

Could be form to grain buyer after parthership end with Bentley or if it is before that how far back when, is question?. Maybe they pushing Bentley to looking for more barley but don't want to be pushing, just thought. Enter Newco Commodity in search and get 2 name under one website link. It seem new name to me. During Jan/Feb delivery my barley didn't delivery to Bentley instead to Olds. So Newco Grain Ltd is grain buyer to me.

should have said, Newco Commodities instead of Newco Commodity.
