Agriville needs more posts, enjoy NAT but it's
corn beans mostly and alot of bickering but lots of
traffic and topics but not alot of wheat comments.

One has to be a regular to get noticed I think
whereas agriville is more laid back but lately to
laid back.

Need more rational discussion,for instance are
you guys asking forward sales now and covering
upside with options or sitting on you hands.

Can it unravel and come tumbling down Errol is
cautious need his views.

Aussie crop going ok I reckon normal or just a tad
under but were small fish in a big pond.

Or are you all flat out like a lizard drinking, out
killing weeds

A book called "Wheat Belly" is influencing the
newest food being consumer-blacklisted. This
time though, this foodfad may have long reaching
affects. Medical doctors, in increasing numbers,
are beginning to advise patients to avoid gluten.
And wheat. This is a subject the industry should
address. If the industry doesn't construct some
perimeters on this topic, others will build them for
agriculture. And wheat farmers will lose market
share to rice and quinoa and amaranth and so

Was trying to post a corn chart a while back but
cannot figure out how to use this god damn computer
and don't have time or patience to learn.

A reasonable corn target is 8.50 using trend line,one
interesting possibility is a massive cup and handle
pattern which gives a 12 dollar target(quick eyeball
estimation).The old high is of course still the ceiling
and the most major line of resistance.

This automatically raises all boats in the grain
sector,not sure about the oilseed side.

It looks like a perfect storm starting to feed itself with
all the sellers leaving the table and shorts starting to
cover,at some point there will be profit taking on the
paper side,this is why technicals are important,self
for filling prophecies of the directions the herd is
going.

As a small-time grain grower, as much as I like the prospect of high grain prices, I don't like the implications of this thing as it's shaping up now.

If the US doesn't get rain in some significant quantities and areas really soon, we're gonna see some real shortages in the near future.

We don't want to see how today's society can act if things get in seriously short supply.

Its quite the story.

If i was a cattle man i would be worried about a
massive cattle liquidation shaping up,sell the cows
there a good price,sell what little feed i have its a
good price,it will end up costing me money to keep
the herd,fk it liquidate for a profit.

just want to get in the top 20% of
prices for 12 and 13 without shelling
out dollars for marketing experts but i
enjoy errol and charlies opinion.

Cash wheat for our standard 10.5 %
protien got to $278 port price which
equates to about $254 on farm price for
me add $12 for 11.5% protien and $20 for
13% plus protien

a whacking good shortage will do the world a power of good, stop worrying about real estate bubbles and swindling bankers and start thinking about the next meal.
farmers have been pissed on since 1980 worldwide, its payback time.
even at £500/ton, wheat is not expensive historically.
seem to remember the market took off this time of yr in july 2007.

few days camping and hiking in our
beautiful Kananaskis country (about 40
minutes from Calgary). Have been
thinking more about the grizzly seen
this weekend than the corn bull market.

Anyway . . . weather markets are
impossible to project. They'll run their
course and then drop like hell. This one
is no different.

The bill of goods we have bought or sold is that everything is scheduled down to the last second of just in time. And then we expect that there will be well above average production; with suprises all capable of being deftly handled.
Well Mother Nature has the capacity to humble the mightiest planner as well as any over optimistic fool. And ignoring increasing expectations; and population growth will sooner or later lead to shortages and hunger a lot closer to home than many will be comfortable with.
Consider that often times when twice as much is planned to be accomplished; it ends up that even less than average ends up being possible.

Just looking through charts and I found the big run-ups in 1973 and 1988 lasted about a month before they slipped. We are only two weeks into this one, are you feeling lucky?
