    Straight cut canola?

With the way the canola is laying down and uneven maturity is anyone thinking
of straight cutting some or all of their crop?

Have straight cut some for a few years now and have not had a wreck yet.
Thinking of not even pulling out the swather this year just dessicate and wait
for the canola to mature on its own.

If the canola is twisted and ripe and green and not tall and in hills and drainage ditches. Can a person straight cut this shit? I would love to let this green shit ripen but I don't know if its an option.

hopper im with you ours is all over the
map. Did one quarter yesterday where 1/4
of it was green. I could roll the seeds
but their also was 1/4 that was brown
      twisted shit.
If we get this rain event might have to
      strait cut.

Depends on your header. Some heads work ok, some can be a disaster. Some of the new d****rs with the big full length "pea" auger work ok. Our flex auger head works very good. We found with d****rs, alot of canola will shell out on header and carry around with canvas and spit out on the ground and did not feed very well when realy dry. If you have any trouble feeding it will not be fun at all.

ditto on the flex. Have done it both ways and would choose my 635 hydraflex if was doing it again.
