how the hell does one decide to spray fungicide in a canola crop that has never cabbaged, then bolted up cause of saturated ground, never covered the ground after flowering. Has a root system actually no root system. Aster Yellows disease rampant. One of the reasons I use 12 inch spacing is less disease pressure. I can see Furrowtickler needing to spray fung cause he had a tall thick crop that held moisture in the canopy to start with. The slerotina pressure here did not warrant a spraying in my opinion. And the nieghbours nicer later crops have low levels of slerotina, not heavy but much nicer to swath, standing straighter higher.

We could have sprayed for disease three times.
Aster yellow did major damage, Fricking mud mud
mud rain. Down por after down pour. Basically
mother nature out smarted the chemists this year.
The bitch always wins.
We are every two to three years but changing to
more winter wheat and oats barley, no peas hrs
durum and 1/3 canola.

Your lucky I can't find my bayer rep. First Prosario
he can stick up his ass. I sprayed when he said it
was ready. Second liberty two pass probably
could have spot sprayed a third time, ok that's bs
but still all was two pass plus 1 liter burn off. Third
proline Fricking every second day. Fourth ps poor
l150 compared to 5440. Yea take it off the market
and bring on shit. Just once give me my old west
star back, always had decent yields.

We took good care of our Canola for the last 100 days or so. Put the seed in the right place, added a healthy fertiliy package. Sprayed for weeds, sprayed proline at 50 percent flower. picked the perfect time for swathing. Swathed with prevailing winds and alas its time to reap the rewards of our hard work. Pull into Canola the past couple days to get a feel for what we have looks like its gonna be decent probably a 40 bushel average on Farm..... Ah but then its time for the other foot to drop Sustained 50 - 80K winds out of the west and tada Double ****! Anyone interested in some land in the Weyburn Area?

Drive a mile south and see what happened to a lentil
crop,six quarters i think.
Ive always believed the big winds come straight west
,mostly from old timers advice.

At least we can be grateful that the
landlords,chemical companies,seed
companies, machinery companies etc etc etc all get
their money,no risk.
Did i say grateful i maybe meant resentful.

I think things are taken care of. I have mentioned to a few people close to let us know if we can help. There's action over there anyway so stuff is getting done. I would imagine once guys get finished if there is anything left to do for them it will get looked after pretty quick.
