    AFSC hail adjusting

Had a large storm on Aug 4. Called it in on Monday morning Aug 6. Still haven't seen or heard from an adjustor. They say go ahead and swath, they can adjust it in the swath, don't worry, be happy. Neighbours are waiting too. Will I get a fair adjustment from them over 3 weeks after the fact? Any tips for when they finally do get here?

Has hailed on July 18 and adjuster came
in last Thursday but I reject cuz they
do not write down paper for counting
damaged as well not counting pod could
be taint. So I am going leave strip for
an another adjustor. How long don't idea
      maybe winter. Lol

Adjuster will be a tired old framer, or
one who has recently quit framing and
        truly hates other framers soooooooo,
you'll git adjusted and probably not be to
happy wit what he says. Soooo, ifn ya
don't like what he says, ask politely fer
someone else ta adjust yer claim, then
wait fer another tired old framer to check
        your claim........ Duhhhhhhhh! Thats
why its called CrapInsurance after all.

If u smarter they will pay. Without
insurance it is suicide as someone has
no insurance got hail out on his canola.
I have look his canola sure their is
worst damage than mine is like beat
their head with hammer. That is suit up
to u whether u like ins or not but be
prepared with hammer if u don't. I have
ins so many years and is happy with
them. I could not without ins is like
auto ins if u can without u may try that
              yet u get pinch.

I am just getting some land adjusted after a June 25 storm. Actually I was
hailed June 25,30, July 28 August 10 and August 24. Just when Municipal
comes to adjust I get fresh damage. I didn't make a claim for this last storm
or I would have the crop in the bin and still be arguing vegetative damage
                with them.

Anyway they were here today and we are only half done but it is a gong show.
Two adjustors, the storm boss, the corner boss and me.

Haven't been adjusted from July storm yet and got er again on Thursday.
Your experience with adjusters can be different depending on them. I've had all kinds. Your never gonna make money pissing them off. If your not satisfied don't sign.
Not sure what to say to someone who doesn't carry it except congatulations, you can afford it.
I wouldn't know how to make it better,(except maybe more adjusters)and I wouldn't want the job. Over 25 years I've received more than I've paid.

My advice with Municipal is hire your own
                    adjuster.

If they have to pay a claim honestly they may die.
                    Have a paramedic near.

rook, as you said hailed was on Aug 4, if it is canola crop, look for pod bruise, pod break off, tell adjustor to slow down and do more time searching for pod bruise and pod break off. It is only count 10 plants so they has time do that. And make sure write down on paper after each plant count. As I have seen one of adjustor throw out canola plant that is not count somewhat mix up and when count is done and add total sum into memory with out paper to backup verify the total counts (10 plants) which is why I caught them doing so. Don't trust brain memory count, do paper or you can bring paper and when an adjustor is counting and tell you the percent of damage and you can put that down paper. Hope that little help. I has 2 insurances, and Sask Hail Insurance Company, is best or better than AFSC as I have noticed. Already adjust on my canola and happy with Sask Hail Ins Company. Now it is AFSC turn.

Hail insurance is a scam. I've never been happy
let alone satisfied after dealing with adjusters.
Always feel that it's a judgement call they make.
Just enough Sask crop insurance to stay in the
                        program.

We went with Global AG Risk this year. Actual
accrual statements and you know where you are
at the end of the year. Math

grain news a few weeks back.
It's worth the read and his points on not signing on
                          are well worth it.

It wasn’t a rant, Ok maybe a little one.

Because of our experience last year which I wrote about. We insure through 4 unaffiliated companies. We had a storm on July 25, settled with 3 within a couple weeks. The 4th Municipal was out today, and my 3 earlier assessments made today much smoother than it could have been. You have to insure, but split your risk up with multiple companies.

If you appeal, make the appeal happen quick, if you appeal the appeal be prepared to loose. Time is not your friend.

Side note everyone of the adjusters that came had read my article.
