Is it just me or is everyone just getting sick of all
the bullshit on the radio this fall!
1 st Bayers new commercial, describing how us
farmers had hope first in spring then optimism in
summer then they go on even after everything our
canolas come out on top. Give me a f$&king
break. Bayer who you trying to impress, the city
people. Because right now your psing 90 percent
of the farmers off.
Second idiots like van thyme on CJGX telling
farmers that in our eastern area it was disease,
forgot about aster yellows shallow roots to much
water etc. no tell farmers to spend more on next
years crop when this was a once in 20 year
problem. But he did mention the later canola
looked real good. Hm wouldn't that be a point, all
seeded canola first this year so aster yellow got a
huge amount of the canola.
One note we have a new snake oil in our area, for
22 an acre this fall you spray you wheat stubble.
And no sclerotina next year. Magic.
Third is the Saskatchewan crop report all areas
have crops below or average but below
expectations . Hm but the media is fixed on we're
ahead of the five year average.
Ok enough.
Hrs most that desiccated are waiting, any one
who swath is combining. Ave best 30 aster yellow
and disease.
Durum harvest is in full swing 50 or lower. Less
rain or lighter ground higher yield. Any where it's
lodged, it's zero production, plants just died.
Peas are done its a shit show lots dropping next
year.
Barley has problems to. Some early is off low
yields and light. Geese having fun. Malt from our
area is going to difficult.
Oats none harvested but still looks ok.
Canola, two guys I know are still working on filling
a 10000 bushel bin. Yields worst was 6 to 15.
Highest top end is 28 to 30. Early seeded has
issues, then stuff seeded after the may long is
better. Then real late has issues.
In reality it seems most of Saskatchewan has a
average to Below average crop.
Good harvest and keep safe!
Winter wheat is a crop of choice for a lot of people
this fall.
