Chlorophyll locked in at 3-5, now what!

Hot an' dry forecast for the next 14 days w/ no chance of rain! 3-5 green count, What Would You Do, and your reasons? If moisture testing 5-6, does that mean the seed is cured, can it be very dry and still not cured?
BTW, canola was swathed on the ripe side overall.
Growers advice would be very appreciated.

It is too risky to leave the canola in the field to wait for the green to come down... regardless of what the green count is, you will be happy to have it in the bin if a wind storm show up unexpectedly...

thanks guys for backing me up, felt the same about wind or storm/hail, and blending opportunities. First third came off at 1% so do have some low of my own, demand should leave room for a deal with someone. Will check w/ WIT cot.

Question, does high green count = uncured canola? even in low moisture samples?

will it come out in the bin are you asking? Yes somewhat, depending on what you are calling green, could be difference of opinion at different places.

Green seed is just another excuse for a discount. They can take chlorophyll out of the oil with filtration, it just takes a little longer. So shop around. In a year like this you may be able to find a colour blind buyer.

tell em to ram it up their you know what. If they cant blend out 3-5 on a year like this they shouldnt be in biz. Cant believe we are even discussing this... If even talk of a discount I wouldnt cross their door again .

Sold off the combine with 3.5 percent green for 14 bucks and the moisture was 9 percent.

They need the canola more than most experts realize. That's why its at 14 and going higher.

If you hang on the discounts won't look so bad anyway.
