Not trying to be a smart ass.

We swathed 200 acres of canola east-west, and the wind in Humboldt is blowing out of the west... I'm hoping they stay put whilst we try combining the last of the wheat in MB...

Moreso than direction is the proper rolling. This year I actally had some north south swaths with no stubble under them that faired better than some of the neighbours east west ones that were not rolled quite as tight and even had stubble. Don't want to roll too tight either as could be trouble picking up. We got done with our canola yesterday thank goodness.

Perfect timing, hopper. We have the June seeded still in swath, hoping not to lose it. A lot of N-S are wrecked around here. Huge rolled up piles. Very sad, best late canola still out there.
I rolled tight, but very little stubble.

From my half hour eastern commute from S'toon, looks like the east/west cut fields are handling the wind much better than the north/south swathed ones...so far.

Hedgehog. No one in my area uses one. So I don't
                          know.
