RR2 Soybeans with cruiser max and innoculant plus some growth promoters. Granular innoculant as well, 30-40 P no N maybe some K if your soil is low. 2 shots of r-up, @ .6. Bug spray occasionally for aphids or spider mites, none this year. Lots of H20. Fungicides only if really wet.

Agstar are their any 000 varieties coming down
the pipe. I think three zeros is good for sask.
canola is a dud if they ever get soy to make it.
The three quarters by us are starting to drop
leaves, frost shouldn't do much damage now.
Look ok.
Hrs is from 25 to 40 aster yellow caused damage.
Half done.
Durum all done.
Canola half done l150 totally sucked. RR varieties
from pioneer good.
5440 next to do.
Barley swath not harvested, lots of early fields ps
poor.
Peas all done.
Oats swath just waiting.
Most 50 to 75 percent done. We're 50.

What are you guys paying per acre for the soyabean planting seed. From any pics I seen they seem like a healthy plant. For now I do not think I will reduce my canola acres cause chances are the canola next year will yield mucho better than this year. Going to be hard to suck up the seed cost, chemical and etc.

Putting everything they got into the ground is somewhat typical of farmers around here anyway, rent will remain high maybe not go up. I don't think I am typical of the put everything into the ground type. Then there is also the do what did good last year type which I do not think is a good strategy also. Then again I have been doing the same thing over and over again for 10 years so a change is likely what ever that will be.

Hey all, NE sask, 60 to 80% done.
Peas...sucked, crop insurance, anywhere from 8 to 25 depending where you were in field. Will be interested if pea buyers try and buy some acres over the winter.
Barley...crappy, 45 to 55 feed all the way.
Oats, still have some to do but did one field and it went 125. Triactor oats for seed. Pretty pleased with them they drink lots of water and seem to stand up, big plant.
Wheat 45 to 55 all #2, but okay considering the moisture.
Canola....what a character building experience....had fields run from 19 to 40 but will be pretty happy to average 30 (probably 28 or 29).
Not sure what to seed next year....wheat/canola 50/50?

Soybeans yields in S MB are running 35-40, some 45's. Current cash price is $16.00. My canola yielded 28, had straw for 60.
I agree with Agstar, canola's days are numbered in S MB. Too expensive to grow, plus the genetics are not keeping up. Too much disease and insect pressure, lack of heat and moisture tolerance, shatter prone, very high fertility requirement, etc etc. It is becoming increasingly harder to produce a decent yield.
Cost to plant soybeans this spring:
$65-$85 for RR2 seed with seed treatment. Cost of seeding differs whether you use a row planter or airseeder. you need more seed if using an airseeder.
Granular inoculant plus 3/4 rate liquid inoculant will cost about $15/acre. I dont normally apply any fertilizer including phosphate to beans, as some years there is no yield response to it, unlike canola that requires 35 lbs P.
Two shots of roundup at 1/2L.
Fungicides are rarely used, insecticides as Agstar said sometimes for aphids, hoppers, mites.
If you have a flexhead, you have all the equipment required to harvest beans. No swaths blowing away in the wind with this crop. A standing crop of beans do not shatter in the wind.
You guys in SK and AB particularly in the wetter areas should send some of your canola and pea check off dollars towards a newly created soybean council and start working on shorter season varieties for your area.
