I see beside the highway near Falher a 8010 or
similar machine burned to the ground.

Check the airscreen door and make sure it is
sealed all the way around. If hinge has the
slightest tweek it will leek around seal. We put
some more weatherstripping on ours to
compensate for that. We usually blow our rads out
every 50 hours or so just as preventative
maintence and have never had heating issues.
The air cleaner will plug prematurely if the
asperator is plugged but even with that working
our air cleaners last one day max. 8120s all got
an update so that air cleaners suck from the top of
the rad and that works for about 75 -100 hrs. Guy
at dealership told me before next harvest that
update will be available for 8010s. We have two
8010s and the rads have never caused us much
trouble so I wonder if your door isn't sealing
      100%?

        Riders2010;

If investors decide the market is too high for grain... do you REALLY think some farmers in Canada can stop the overall market from falling?>

The prairie pools thought so in 1929.... and our CWB for decades strove to brainwash growers in western Canada that we can hold others at ransom... and force the 'market' higher.

Are you insinuating... that we growers who sold at $1/bu higher for Wheat and Canola.... SHOULD have NOT sold ourr grain... ?>??

Do you really think... that western Canadians have any significant ability to force wheat, oilseeds, or feed grains in these vast overall world grain markets... up?

Show me the economic data to back up your theory!

        Cheers!

One of the neighbours bought a kit for his 8120 for $3500 that does extend the amount of time between cleaning the air cleaner... thoughts are this could be retro fitted onto a 8010.

        All the best!

What do you call 1000 economists at the bottom of the ocean? Just like the answer to the lawyers joke..."Its a good start".

I would have thought that some of the evils associated with politics and religion would be seen to have a significant effect on society. Maybe because you can't graph subjective assessments of human behavior; you think it has no relevancy in a quest to squueze the extra nickel out for Me, Me and Me.

Bluefargo we also found with the dryness this
year we are better off with are chopper knives
down all the way and our chopPer as slow as
possible. FYI if you happen to ever set your
chopper slower you must drop the knives or bad
            things can happen.

If you do run your chopper in low range make sure to run it in high every other day for a few minutes since the bearing does not take grease while in low range.

                  Bluefargo,

The best resource for combine problems and solutions on the internet is

                  http://www.harvesting.com/combine/directory.htm

No matter the color, if it has a problem, good chance the solution is here.

Hey Bluefargo, how many hours on your machine. I bought an 8010 from a supposed reputable dealer, and oh my, what a POS! Wish I had my two fabulous 2188's back. Big capacity when it works though. That's what I said about by TR95 when I had one. Trouble was to keep it running. These class 8's are all POS, every color.

Marshall - Our 8010 had just under 1800 engine hours on it when we bought it. We were pretty nervous buying at the auction and were probably lucky we didn't have more trouble. We did have a spreader motor go which spread schrapnel(sp) into the system. $4000 later the problem was solved. We thought this was a small price to pay considering the price we got it for. I love the capacity of this combine. It sure gobbled up our acres in a hurry. I wouldn't go back to the 2188.
