    Short Canada

It is my believe the canadian economy is about to hit
    the wall.

Its a very contrarian view and i can't hardly find
    anybody that agrees.

It is STUNNING to see the rest of the world stumble
and muddle while we blew our bubbles bigger and
    bigger.

This is the fourth most obvious investment i have
    ever seen in my life.

Cotton how would this affect our grain prices?
With what happening in the world I am thinking on pulling the trigger on all my grain since prices are high, and risk of waiting for higher could be very risky. Whats your plan?

Mustardman. Just wondering why you don't sell
2% a week or roughly 10% a month like the CWB
did. Why would you market any different then the
      way the CWB did it?

        CP,

We are linked with the US/EU/China/India/JPN... hard to jump off this ship. We have the products they need.

Domestically I see the CDN Feds pulling BACK on spending... at present not like the US or EU.

What are the chances of Obama winning?

Even if ROm wins... how different would he be?

We need to do less with the US... but if FarEast/EU/US is messed up... the rest are in the same pickle.

Aussies and Canadians are both in the best position from here.

Old habits die hard... and the US $$$ is still KING!

Not worried about medium long term outlook on
grain prices, made my shorter decision on sept
5(posted),if anything it will force more capital into the
          tangibles.

Western canada may get through this but the east will
          not.

All of our natural resources still only make up less
          than 10% of gdp.

We just posted our worst trade imbalance ever, which
means we are importing more than we are exporting.

The deficits are structural and at every level of
          government.

The baby boomers are retiring, god knows what this
will cost(go long on depends diapers).

And the housing market just imploded.

Word of advice-if you are ever in a crowed movie
theatre or bar and you smell smoke or see fire, goto
the exit immediately, don't wait for the crowd to wake
          up.

cottonpicken: If western farmers all thought like you do they wouldn't even bother seeding a crop...just head for the hills with a shitload of ammo and a box of tools to build a cabin deep in the woods.

Pessimism must be endemic in your world. Don't you ever rise in the morning and rejoice about the greatest land we live in and the greatest opportunities that exist here?

Most of Canada's problems are the result of stupid people who are not statesmen but friggin clueless POLITICIANS who run governments as a fiefdom dominated by a very few people looking out for the most gain for them and their friends.

We need more people like the late Peter Lougheed, Tommy Douglas and Ernest Manning to manage our various jurisdictions where these people looked out for the common good and not just the "special interest" groups. They weren't perfect but they certainly tried to make things run as they should.

We had Tommy Douglas govern us for a
Saskatchewan-eternity, and as a result, drew
              transfer-welfare-paymnents for decades. Begging
              became an established Tommy-habit. pars

Housing is cooling a little. But individual debt
continues to climb like fire in a wall. Interest rates
will rise. Are farmers prepared? Never will your
credit history be more important. pars

Lol,im not a head for the hills pessimist, just calling it
                  as i see it.

Western canada is one of the best spots to be and
                  farming a great occupation.

I just think some things are going down and some
things will be going up,just like what has happened in
the market since there was one.

And if I'm wrong everyone can hack on me because i
posted, and if I'm right everyone can say lucky
                  guess,lol.

Whenever I hear any man say he wants to start www III I get a little worried?
Obama and Romney both suck.......but at least Obama isn't holding Isreals coat, just waiting to have a go at Iran?
Did ayone listen to Ahminijead (sp?) when he addressed the UN? Our Canadian representatives didn't...they walked out the door?
The guy may be a little nutty....but one thing he said was this:
Why is the mideast going to hell in a handbasket? Why has there never been a real inquiry into 9/11.....which started this whole gong show? What does the US government and Israel have to hide if that gong show was on the up and up?
2 million dead for a fairy tale? If you believe 9/11 happened like George Bush said.......come and see me....I have some ocean front property in Alberta to sell you!

ARSG are you kidding me? The US govt flew planes into their own buildings? For what? To start a war to control the oil reserves? There is nothing else there. Why spend $10 on a war when all they needed is $1 of that to buy the oil in the first place. If you think he did it to get re elected then take Wilagro's advice and head for the hills

ASRG You watch to much TV.

There are people around the world Islamic extreemist's that do not in anyway represent Islam or Muslims in General, but people that do not like our way of life. They will stop at nothing to destroy our way of life. They also believe that Isreal should not exsist.

Netanyahu could be dangerous but put yourself in his shoes. President of a Country listening to another President of a Country saying Isreal should be wiped off the map.

BTW Cotton I tend to agree with you on some levels, we are in for a bit of a softening. How that effects Ag who knows hopefully our banks have their shit together.

Ok Cotton, you say things will go up, some will
go down. Like what and what?

According to last weeks reports, Canada is alive
                              and well, all indicators up.
