I'm sick and tired of 20-30 inches of rain in june july and august, 3 out of the last 5 years. So I for one would sure like to see it drier than continual trying to farm in mud. So if that means a drought than bring it on, just don't start raining at harvest time tho...

Rain makes grain. Except for soybeans, apparently
they do just fine without it.

Had the sc****r and Cat out this week.
Cleaning up stuff that should have been
done before. Put sc****r to cut 2 inches
and guess what the top inch is dry then
look out. Mud at a foot down or two. So a
dry winter again is welcome.

We had 4 inches rain/snow since last december. Don't ever wish for a drought. Have you ever fought prarie fires in a 100 k wind or tried to grow anything with no moisture.
Guess no one remembers a few years ago when hay was heading east because of no rain. Give me green over brown anyday

Green yes, under water no, it kills crops. Weeds, salinity, ruined roads, compaction, disease, nutrient loss are not in brown fields.

Excess moisture - people move a little further up a hill.

Excess drought - history tells us that people move away.

I'd never turn down a rain, after all I live in a semi arid climate that is only saved for agriculture because it cools down at night.

If the end result is collecting crop insurance ..I pick drought rather than 22 inches of rain..With that comes an out look for another "Mud in" spring..Our C D ditch just quit running a month ago..
