I farm in an area of is prevalent for a
few years, the initial fields that were
found to have club root are now allowed
to go back into canola canola
production growing resistant varieties.
The county ordered a larger scale farm
to destroy several quarters of canola on
land that found to have club root two
years ago. These black coats have a
cereal/canola rotation and seeded some
resistant and non-resistant varieties on
the infected land. Pleading ignorance to
the fact the land was infected, the
county has now revoked the order to
destroy the crop, and taken samples to
be tested, and if found positive will
re-issue the club root notification,
have served and signed by the colony. As
a producer neighboring these fields the
matters mentioned above just leaves me
to ponder the teeth of county club root
policies, and the land stewardship of
these producers.
