This prolonged period of cool weather has been a blessing and a deteriment at the same time. Most areas in this part of the country have had virtualy no rain in July. Crops are in general late and some have recovered very well from June monsoons. But here in lies the kicker, the late crops are almost out of gas and are trying to produce pods/seed. We need more heat units to push crop but if any heat comes with out rain the later crops will produce very little regardless of how they look today. The earlier seeded crops, or crops seeded on time are just about done filling, with some on light land showing severe lack of moisture stress.
IMO, this big crop is on a razor thin line right now regardless of potential frost.
Just my observation at this time
