Yesterday was a day you dream will never
happen, but prepare to the best of your ability to
stop if it does.
I am thankful for the neighbours who dropped
what they were doing to help us. Words will never
say enough. The 12 other water trucks apart from
ours, 4 tractors and undetermined amount of
people who showed up to fight our fire was jaw
dropping. I am in tears thinking of what might
have been. They turned what could've been a
major disaster for a little village into something
that was contained in a 1/2 mile on our property
with minimal damage, especially considering the
conditions yesterday.
But most of all, I am thankful to God for His hand
of mercy and protection. You can believe what
you want, but for myself, there is no denying He
was there. Seeing oil sprayed all over the cab and
header and the fact my brother was able to get
out unscathed is amazing. And of all the days it
could've happened, was the day we weren't in the
boonies by ourselves. No one was hurt, and the
property loss was minimal.
I am also thankful we have two older combines
instead of one new one. We will be able to finish
our harvest without scrambling to find something
or someone.
Now lets see if these pics work.
