Sure the rain made harvest stop. But after getting a few game cam pics
of a bear eating my spilled wheat in the binyard, I went for a little
tour of our land to pinpoint his location. I was also drawn for moose
and mulies so I am taking advantage of this opportunity to scout. The
trees are gorgeous, the sky is that perfect blue. No mosquitos, few
pesky flies. I walked around a bit in my woodlands, and remembered why
I don't push every stick on my farm. Saw lots of fresh moose activity,
jumped a nice white-tail, and then sat down and just simply marveled at
the beauty around me, soaking in the sight, watching the squirrels
fight over hazlenuts, the ducks and geese out on the lake. The smell of
dark, rich soil underfoot, the wet leaves.
Never did find exactly where the bear went, but the breathtaking beauty
made me happy and relaxed. Helped me forget about the 50% of crop I
have left.
We live in a glorious country. Take a moment to get out and breathe it
in. Moose is on October 15th. Happy to have my own private place to
hunt them.
Anyone else out there hunt???
Enjoy this day!
