We bought a Semi in an auction in Montreal and
decided to bid on a car hauler to boot. Then we
drove this huge rig across the continent. Since
we are not seasoned truckers, we were
depending on a faulty fuel guage. Oh yeh, semis
don't get the same fuel mileage as a Smart Car,
we can attest to that now, but being farmers we
know how to bang on the tanks and measure
with the squeegee stick. Good thing, it was a
darn close call! We now have a new respect for
longg distance haulers. Also, when headlamps
quit for some damn reason, it might be good to
know where the relay boxes are.Other lesson,
bypass Chicago at all cost. This was an
experience, to say the least. But we made it
without killing anyone.
