The market place for farm equipment is
consolidating, getting more competitive. Dealers
seem to offer auction prices for trade ins, yet new
prices continue to escalate. I'm wondering if in
the future the dealers will fewer pieces of used
equipment and offer more in the areas of new
sales, parts, and service. When dealers sell
many of the used pieces of equipment in the big
auctions, ie Richie brothers this is where true
value is determined, market.
Should farmers consign more of there own
equipment direct to the auction vs trying to trade
equipment to dealers?
