We've been hearing a lot of bearish talk
from farmers lately, yet, bins seem to
be locking up anyway. This could extend
a bearish trend well into the New Year.
Here's what one Alberta farmer said to
us yesterday, regarding the feed barley
market:
"I wouldn't be surprised if we see
$2.50/bu picked-up next fall. The only
reason that number is unsightly is
because what we've become accustomed to.
Only a few years ago, $3 was a high
price... And the other thing that tells
me this could happen is that no one
thinks it can!"
We don't want to see this happen, but
what do you guys think? Was $4-5 barley
just a blip on the radar?
