Dear Wheat Commission Candidates;
I am writing to advise you that a decision has
been made to extend the voting period for the
election of directors with the Saskatchewan
Wheat Development Commission (SWDC).
Due to an unexpected delay in obtaining mailing
agreements with Canada Post, we felt it was
prudent to extend the voting deadline by one
week. Our regulations require ballots to be
mailed at least 15 business days prior to the
voting date.
Ballots will now be mailed early next week and the
new deadline for ballots to be received by the
Returning Officer at Levy Central in Saskatoon is
Friday, December 6, 2013. This will provide a
wider timeframe for the delivery and return of
ballots.
Our decision was made in consultation with the
Agri-Food Council of Sask., which oversees our
operations and I trust you will understand that the
extension is aimed at providing the maximum
opportunity for producers to vote in the election.
We will be publicizing this information on our
website www.saskwheatcommission.com and in
the media in the coming days.
Best regards,
Tom Steve
