Subject: Dan Danielson runs for the Sask. Wheat Development Commission
Hi Folks: Would you please forward the attached information related to the current Sask. Wheat Development Commission Election to your Council Members and any other farmers who may be interested . Thank you for your assistance. Regards; Dan Danielson.
My wife Sharon and I are long time wheat farmers in the Tyner/Eston area, on a 2,100 acre family farm we operate in co-operation with our neighbour and his family. We live in Saskatoon but also live part-time on our farm. We have two adult sons. I have university degrees in Economics and Education with a Masters Degree in Administration, along with a Certification in Human Resource Management.
My employment and board experience has been as a Rural Economic Development Officer, with the Federal-Provincial Partnership on Rural Development (PARD), President of the Saskatchewan Crown Land Tenants Association, a Board Member for the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency (SAMA), and Executive Member of the Saskatchewan School Boards Association (SSBA).
Sharon and I were loyal supporters of the farmer governed CWB, and as an economist I fully understand how we benefited from the market premiums generated by the single- desk selling monopoly, the orderly marketing system, and the farmer purchased assets. I believe we must make up for the loss of our CWB single-desk advantage.
As a member of the Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission, I will stand up for farmers, and help increase farm profits, by adding value to wheat production through effective research and development, and by improving or expanding our domestic and international markets. I know how to listen and lead, and I will ask the hard questions needed to protect your interests. I believe farmers can profit going forward, without destroying or selling off control of our proven grain marketing agencies and structures. Market premiums produced by the wheat check-off must return to the farm gate. Therefore, I ask for your vote in this important election.
Sincerely;
Dan Danielson.

I feel that it is very important to have the best working group of Saskatchewan Wheat and Barley Development Commission Members possible, with the objective to benefit farmers first, before the large multi-national corporations. Public funding and the wheat check-off funding, for Research and Development, in my opinion require that the public and the farmers need to maintain access and control over the benefits and premiums from that investment.
Several farmers have asked me who I think would be the best candidates to support in this election. For that reason I have reviewed the candidates very carefully and suggest that the following people would be the most committed and effective. These are the people I would like to work with, because I know I can trust them.
