This morning the Alberta Canola Growers dropped
by the Grain Academy and told us to stop handing
out samples of canola seed to visitors due to seed
contamination. The fear is that someone might
propagate this contamination. Does anyone know
anything about this? No other details were
provided.
To back up, we work with local schools on our
programming and about 5,000 school kids come to
the GA every year, mostly grades one to five, as part
of their curriculum. We make available small
packets of the six major grains they can take back
to class or take home and try to grow and then
record the plants life cycle.
