Grain companies got us all to start doing contracts for delivery with them after the end of the CWB. Most started doing this and did ok to very well to crash and burn for some. But on average most did ok. Then come the 2013 crop we all had contracts in place for our hrs off the combine and into the fall for delivery. Some had huge amounts of production some had very minor but were starting the process and learning.
So then the shit show started with fall deliveries and the grain companies blaming the railway and railway blaming who the hell knows. Its goes on and on and who is the looser, its always the farmer.
So most grain companies know that farmers have a huge payables due at the end of Dec or into Jan and Feb.
Their HRS is tied up in worthless contracts with 90 day terms in fine print behind the guaranteed delivery month. So sept Dec 30 th. So then what does a farmer have to sell, Canola so why not skin the idiots some 1.29 or more compared to Australia for this crop. Get the ones who need cash and grind them hard.
Their is no way in the world we should be dropping to 1980s prices when Soy and Australian Canola has held up. Its pure BS (sorry Charlie explain why its not).
Canola is maybe trading on world for good price that the companies are making profit on but the Joe farmers of Canada are getting it in the ASS! Widen the basis to 100 a ton maybe 200 pay us 1970s prices to steal this crop.
Canola council you got your wish, Farmers realize what you gave them,
What a wonderful system.
