Will the federal government realize that
many farmers want a well funded public
breeding program? What do the prairie
provincial governments think of reducing
our public breeding programs to zero? Do
people really think it is wise to have
an extremely small number of companies
basically controlling the food supply?
Why does our federal government think
this is such a good idea? Is a properly
funded public program along side private
breeders an excellent scenario?
Personally I would not want to see our
seed industry being controlled by 5 or 6
companies. Centralized control of the
means of production(land,labour,capital)
is very dangerous.
