I sold out of wheat last Friday. I had taken
uniform samples to discovery labs to sell it
according to its milling qualities. The milling
wheat averaged 13% protein, 377 falling number.
I sold for $16.15/bu bulk raw FOB farm.
Three loads were 10.8% protein and I sold them
Into the feed market. I averaged the feed sales
and ended up with $12.50/bushel.
I sold milling oats from a new crop contract
$6.00/bushel delivered to Saskatoon. From what I
know feed barley is running around $7.20/bu .
I am selling quite aggressively. All my grain will be
priced by mid January. I am satisfied I met my
price targets. There is always room at the organic
elevators (sarcasm). I suspect there will be a
correction coming.
New crop oats are $6.00/bu delivered to
Saskatoon. I signed up a couple of loads for
movement and cash flow in the fall. At this time, I
signed New crop hemp for $1.25/pound delivered
to the cleaner. If I grow an average crop, there
should be some decent profit for 2014.
