Shannon Vanraes' article in the Manitoba Co-
Operator about the recent GrowCanada
conference was published on January 2, 2014.
Speaker Ron Doering, who is the past President
of the CFIA in Ottawa, told the biotechnology
industry audience, according to VanRaes'
reporting, that Consumers have bee duped into
the belief that organic is better then conventional.
He doesn't like organics.
The article also states "Doering said that
requiring GM labels on food, would also serve to
conform that the products are harmful in the eyes
of the consumer , and that would be bad for the
biotech business".
No doubt.
So the biotech industry is fighting back. Hard.
The ex-CFIA President Doering has fought long
and hard for the biotech industry. He must have
been very inspired, indeed, to fight his Minister.
VanRae says, "Indeed , Doering is proud of his
work convincing then federal minister Allan Rock
to retract a plan to make GM labelling mandatory
in the late 90's."
Quote " I worked really, really hard to stop it, " he
said, adding, "you just fight, fight, fightand never
allow it to happen."
In our society today, we indeed see fervor that
will stop at nothing. Nothing.
What kind of incentive would Doering have, in
order to to work so hard for specifically the
biotech industry, beingst he was the official head-
inspector for all categories of Canadian food?
He likes eating? Surely the biotech industry sent
him a bouquet of roses in full bloom, along with
a thank you card.
I thought this was an intereting insight into fervor.
Meantime, since it has been revealed in the past
few days, that the CFIA inspected, and found
organic fruit and vegetable produce has been
basted in pesticides, so I must quit quoting ex-
CFIA Boering and find out why the organic
inspection failed. Two CFIA stories in one week
is quite the coincidence Parsley
