First I phoned around for contracts for fall Sep. 2014 for HRS $4.25 #1 13, Barley Malt at Oct. del $4.15 No pea bids at Richardson ok 4.80 fall for yellow, Canola off combine del to elevator Sept $8.49 Oct 8.49 and Oct 8.60, Oats Sep. at $1.88 or Oct. at
2.01.
Wow what nice numbers to find a game plan. Now lets all get excited about growing a crop this year.
Were back to 1991 prices. Lets get the 26 mt crop for canola and get 5.25.
So a 40 bushel Wheat crop will generate.160an acre or $200.00 for a 50 and 60 will give you $240.00.
Canola 30 will give $254.00 40 will get you $340.00 50 will give $424.00 and 60 will get you $509.00.
Basic expenses for HRS Fert spray and disease seed treatment crop or hail no cert seed for those who want 15 a bushel seed times 2.25 is 33.75 vs. bin run or 10.00. So basic is 140 to 160.00 if I didn't forget some thing. So Basic expenses vs. final outcome is break even for a 40 bushel HRS You figure how to pay for you equipment and land and rent and taxes out of SFA! Normal year I feel 40 is a good average HRS yield. At 60 you can make $80.00 profit.
Canola costs 180 to 230 Basic costs.
Basically What I'm saying is at todays price if we grow a wreck (30 Canola and 40 HRS some wreck) Farmers will loose Billions in 2014 2015. If we get a crop like this year yes their is a profit build in for 60 hrs.' and 60 Canola.
Warm and fuzzy doesn't it make every one! Lets over produce because that works.
