We had an ok run loading producer cars
in December however it seems they no
longer want to work with producer cars.
In North Battleford there is a 3 car
producer siding. A group of us had
loaded about a third of the cars we
ordered as they were spotted. All of a
sudden at the end of December 3 tankers
show up, OK. After a week these cars are
still there, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, a month
they are still there so we start making
some phone calls. Turns out they are CN
cars full of Calcium Chloride being used
to clean cars and they will be there
indefinitely and they will not spot
producer cars on any of the other lines
in the rail yard or the dead end spur
north hamlin.
Meanwhile on CP there is next to nothing
for producer sidings in NW sask. I
loaded a few cars in Biggar but it is a
terrible spot, it's tight for space and
on a hill. It also only makes sense for
grain stored at our south farm. So we
worked out an arrangement with one of
the fert dealer with a siding on CP a
little closer to N.B. but CP refuses to
spot producer cars on that siding.
Seems like nothing but dead ends when it
comes getting producer cars spotted.
