I like Harper and his government. He gives me confidence to farm.
Provincially, our NDP scares the shit out of me, and are far from a friend of the farmer. Local government just as bad. Both view agriculture as a chequebook, and both look down on agriculture. Both a consequence of center-left politics.
In the wings, is trudeau, who represents an eastern dominated establishment elite, who have done western Canada no favors.
Markets are markets, but the biggest thing standing in the way of economic growth/optimism/investment/revitalization/entry in agriculture is government itself.
What's you opinion regarding broader "govt" influence on your farming operation/plans?
