Just throwing the question out there . CP just
announced record profits and us farmers have 90
dollars basis due their lack of getting our product
moved. Since we have very little option but to use
them wouldn't the loss of $50 a ton on basis be a
grounds to take this up . Every farmer on the
prairies has suffered a loss sometime or another
due to these pricks . Was at a Paterson location
yesterday and he said the durum buyer( former
CWB ) has passed on three large sales for
summer through to fall because rail couldn't
commit to getting the product moved . I don't
know what it takes or if it would qualify as a legal
case but someone with some funds (hello wheat
commissions ) should maybe look as this . Hell if
we went back 10 years the number could be
staggering .
