If Enbridge can propose to build the Northern
Gateway, nearly 1200 kms of pipeline. And
TransCanada can propose another nearly 1200
kms long. Why can't nearly 2300 kms of railway be
built from Winnipeg to Vancouver, or maybe only
from Regina west? Do we have a vision for
Western Canada? We are resource rich and need
to move them, grow the economy. Job creation.
The volume of grain alone in the last three decades
has increased with continuous cropping and
intensive ag practices. Demand for general freight
for a growing population and economy. Ongoing
demand from oil if pipelines aren't built. Potash
expansion. Can you honestly say there won't be a
need for more capacity?
