    CWB meeting in NISKU

    Charlie and Thalpenny,

I have heard there is a high level CWB meeting on value adding on August 14 in Nisku with lots of MLA's from Alberta invited, and high level CWB staff such as Jim Spaford and Jim Thompson from the CWB grain sales dept.

I understand this meeting is to assure Alberta the CWB is doing an excellent job of value adding, therefore to discourage the passing of the Alberta Government's CWB marketing choice legislation...

Have I got this about right?

Why would the CWB hold this meeting in the middle of harvest, is this meeting open to grain farmers?

          I don't get it Charlie,

Why did the CWB take my reservation for the Aug. 14 meeting at 9:30 this morning???

What about the farmers who bought plane tickets to fly in to go to this meeting?

I know they were not getting the CWB supporters coming, but there were certainly many others that were willing to put a big effort in to get to the August 14th meeting, is it fair to cancel out at the last minute?

Was it fair to say that farmers were too busy (on the radio and in the phone calls notifying us of cancellation) to come to the meeting when we were coming from all over western Canada to meet with the CWB sales staff?

          Is this accountability and honesty?
