Regina-based fans of the Ultimate Fighting
Championship are about to get a firsthand look at
the sport and some of its athletes.The UFC
Experience is to visit four cities this summer,
including Regina on May 23-24. The tour also is to
stop in Kelowna on July 4-5, Lethbridge on Aug. 1-
2 and London, Ont., on Aug. 29-30.Each stop on
the tour is to feature a one-day UFC Community
Works event that supports a local organization
followed by a second day of introduction to the
sport of mixed martial arts.In Regina, the chosen
community organization is Big Brothers of
Regina.On May 23, UFC athletes will help stage an
MMA demonstration at Complete Martial Arts and
Fitness (2124 Broad St.) for Big and Little Brothers
and will participate in a question-andanswer
session on mentorship.The UFC also will make a
financial contribution to Big Brothers at the event,
which is closed to the public.On May 24, the UFC
Experience will be held in Victoria Park from 11
a.m. to 4 p.m. The Experience includes an
interactive fan zone in which fans can pose with a
UFC championship belt or test their fitness levels
with a punch-strength machine, a vertical jump
test, a pullup bar and a push-up station.The event,
which is open to the public and free to attend, also
is to feature an autograph sessions with UFC
fighters.Fans at the Experience can win passes to
an exclusive viewing party at the 4Seasons Sports
Palace of UFC 173. Fighters on hand for the event
will be available for autographs and will analyze
the fights on the card.The viewing party is open
