They are still beating the bushes....
Are you currently a member and if you are what have you done? If you're not, will the fertilizer project entice you to join and become part of it?
Latest offer.
$2500 3 year membership with $1500 credited back to your account to spend with them. $1000 to get your foot in the door of the announced "proposed" fertilizer plant. Later the big investment based on how many tonnes you commit(?) to use. You get those tonnes at wholesale cost(not production cost), that still leaves a margin for the fert plant. Their goal is not to drive down the cost of fertilizer but supply it's shareholder's with wholesale prices.
This is a long term strategy for your farm, think about how much longer you will be actively farming. How long will it take to recover the initial cost of the share investment? I guess it will depend on the difference between wholesale and retail pricing and how many tonnes you use. Will the share appreciate in value over time? Will they get bought out or squeezed by one of the big players.
Any thoughts?
