I see pork back ribs from Chile in our local Co-op this week.
I guess our own pork must be too high priced that we import from Chile.
Perhaps the aftermath of our Free Trade forays of our PM Harper. How soon before cheap beef starts rolling in from places like Columbia and underselling our domestic production? Any bets that these Free Trade Agreements will eventually bite us in the arse when our prices start to return a decent return for our producers and the consumers start to resist?
Do we need cheap imports to balance things out?
For curiosity's sake I bought a couple of pkgs of these imported back ribs to see if they measured up to our home grown product. Maybe they will be all boar meat like the ones from Finland a year or so ago. Will know in a day or so.
