Tile drainage

In a year with excessive rain, I would expect tile to make a big difference but does it save to crop in all areas? tile at 40 or 50 ft apart maybe wider. Does it drain better near the tile and less in the midpoint between tiles? is it worth while to tile parts of fields in a case with large depressions?
