99 is correct about 2 things if you have an
accountant with farm background is better and
the second is fbc service is all crap i am no
longer with them. Better off using the guy at
the mall. If fbc did not solisit door to door
they would be out of business. Their salesmen
are good could probably sell a fridge to an
eskimo. Although when it comes to marketting
approach any advice with caution. I once talked
to a farmer that figured he got good advice from
the higher up guys at bunge well we can all
understand how that ended up. Basically lost
    his ass from advice.

Well this topic got out of hand.

I wasn't saying to anyone about selling
all canola now, 6 months ago, 3 months
          ago.

It was all about pricing a bit more than
we had done at $12 or better and there
was an opportunity within the last 3
weeks to lock in $12 for next spring
delivery. We typically deliver 80% of
our canola in June/july and accept the
          storage risk.

We are currently 50% sold at an avg of
11.80. We will play with the rest of
          carry over.

At nearly 60, I think I'm older than you
S3 so don't remind me of the lean
years.bi have a hard time understanding
you when you post happy fathers day and
merry xmas then the next post is the JD
dealer wants to sell me 3 690's,
sprayers and tractors and then bitch
that the he wants to make 8 to 10 points
          on it.

If farming creates that must stress and
frustration for you then do yourself and
family a favor a figure out a way to
          deal with it

          Life's too short

Pretty good set of beer clouds .... Maybe
upgraded to a drunk front. So far we'ved recieved
around 25 mm of rain and more falling in the
                Yorkton area...cheers

Just north of 2 inches here in southern Alberta. Lots of standing wheat and durum out yet. Was a well above average crop. Not so sure now.

On our farm it's a very good wheat year but an average canola year.
