ms. jordan is the spokesperson for Monsanto.
She is the farmers BFF.
Industry wants to make her more personable so
Monsanto can sell more product. Its all about
perceptions and marketing.
I think its very clever and she has every right to
blog. Freedom of speech.

chuck.
Ms. Jordan is a well known individual in the agriculture industry and is personally known by probably quite a few who read this site, including myself. She is a passionate advocate for our industry, so a friend to all of us because of that. I am interested in her posts from Sochi. I can't be there, so to get a "glimpse" through a colleagues eyes is interesting.
So, like Southpaw says, stuff it. Go read this website. I'm sure it'll be more to your taste.

Oh, or how about sponsoring Cmdr Chris
Hadfield to speak at FarmTech. What a
travesty and manipulation eh chuckchuck.
Or how about $150,000 in grant money
distributed to 60 rural communities
applied for by farmers across Canada?
Pure evil at its worst.
There are some positives, but sometimes
you just have to look a slightly
different direction.

fed budget
Nothing in the budget for agriculture expect more food inspectors to make sure the food Canadians eat is safe. (Does that mean Canadians should now be worried that it may not be and unsafe food is getting out there)
Glad to see the governments concern about getting our products to market and the lines in the budget about investing in new Detroit Windsor link and further study of east oil pipeline BUT not one mention of improving rail or grain movement. Maybe government hopes farmers can use the 10 mil they are putting into snowmobile trails for movement of grain off the prairies.

Good call cottnpicken. It'll take days to sift through
this. The one thing that jumped out at me was the
half billion for Chrysler, eh, pardon me? Actually,
not sure if this is even a budget. If our economy is
flatlined and there is no stimulus, either through
spending or strategic tax re-alloctation then there
is a potential downside and I think Harper may be
gambling on a magic bullet for 2015. And of
course, nothing for Ag - "Marketing Freedom"
solved all that. BTW, Mbdog is a Con party plant -
something they're doing all over the place to
influence and guide discussion on social media.

There is a thing called an index and you can quickly find the agricultural section, pages 148-151. Nearly everything there has already been introduced previously and is simply regurgitation, such as growing forward 2, and modernization of seed regs (upov).
Yes, there is a new livestock insurance program but it is simply an income deferral program that is simpler to what has been introduced as needed in the past and there are no details if farmers are going to have to pay a premium now. The other news which will apply to very few farmers is new regs for craft beer brewing.
If anyone finds other ag info elsewhere in the budget I would welcome their input.
