Rain fall totals! Ah F$&k monsoon totals!

Woke ip this morning it rained from 5 yesterday and it looks like the monsoon is now rotating back around for round two!
    75mm but I don't think we're the worst!
What are others seeing! This is unf$&king believable!
    We're done June 29th 2014! Yea it's a average crop my ass!
    Rain doesn't make grain!

So far we have escaped the worst 6 mm yesterday but expecting 20 today. It seems most has moved to western and southern mb while amounts are sporadic in the rest of mb . It is not such a bad thing having a grain carryover.

Read 7 inches at storthocks and cromer(havent heard of it)has been evacuated.

Wonder how many acres we are talking about here.

I do know the big,big problem is that when everything is saturated and the system is already full an event like this is catastrophic.

Back in 08 or 09 we received 3 in three weekends in a row. Canola 10-15 wheat 25, very ugly. The railways will be off the hook now.

Ok not sure how the post from a different thread got added here! No not saying drop a bomb on our area!
Saturates land doesn't take any more water ! This is the storm I was worried about hitting! It hit not good! Acres lost or gone! Watching it move in was interesting! Enviroment canada couldn't figure out what was happening for our area till it was going for a hour! Looking and animating the radar anyone could of predicted it's path! Dah

                        Agree agstar.
Whether it is cash in the bank or grain in the bin, these have been traditional safeguards.
In recent years, many of us have come to rely on crop insurance and AgriStability as well.
For those farmers with a production margin of $100 per acre or better, AgriStability offers a substantial degree of coverage. Some complain about reduction in support level from 85 to 70 per cent but it is still a mostly taxpayer provided benefit not available to other business.
A significant drawback is the delay in receiving funds and knowing how much. Grain in the bin or cash in the bank still helps us sleep at night.

Chatting with another farmer yesterday. Relative was preparing to seed this spring at a 60 $ rent when landlord phoned and said he wanted 90 settled at 75. I wonder how that deal looks now.

2" south of the valley since yest. afternoon. Interesting watching that on Radar. At one time it looked like a buzz saw blade. Nine inches here on the season so far.
