Braveheart, by your actions I can see we are more similar than different.
I chuckled though at your comment about "bending theories to fit anti corporate, anti capitalism agendas. It needlessly hurts middle class families trying to get by. They can ill afford more taxes or higher gas prices or heating costs."

It goes along with my previous post about the mafia style electricity pricing in Alberta. It could be described as just bending theories to fit corporate, "free-market", capitalist agendas - it also has the effects you describe on families.

The more I see, the more I'm convinced there is not much difference between extreme right and extreme left.

So farmaholic, the right to be an emitter has to be earned, lol?

Grassfarmer. Nope, just a comparative question or observation. We live in a part of the world that has the political, economic, environmental and lifestyle ingredients that make us high energy users. Not saying that makes it right, we just do. Distances too far to walk. Climate that requires alot of supplemental heat. Lavish lifestyles( drive anywhere for anything, airconditioning, "artificial" ice,......), Developement of natural resources that require large amounts of the same.

Are we powerless to affect change, either negative or positive?

If u doubt that volcanoes and other natural phenom don't have more of an impact than humans just remember what happened in 1993. We as humans never did that on our own. Go back in history and its happened before and will happen again.
There is no doubt we have heated things up but I believe the earth and mother nature have there own plan. We just play along as she determines.

Who woke up one day and decided that carbon is the culprit with respect to global warming? Oops, no there is no global warming, let's just call it "climate change"? Oh, maybe its not carbon, the backbone of human life, maybe its particles, or maybe its cows farts. Oh, but wait, climates have been continually changing, and maybe the hottest May on record is actually 6 degrees below average. PLEASE! Find a new scare tactic.

You also started a tread that when Hillary Clinton spoke about recylcing in Vegas that it's a big scam.

Now you type away on ths tread denying climate change. It's easy to see where you stand on anything to do with the enviroment. I'm sure gald we all don't have the same shitty attitude you have.

Not so forage, the opposite. I am a tree hugger and look after thousands of small trees, have several gardens (organic, I might add). I spend a good part of my time with hoe on hand, a big steel homemade one. I also constantly post against intensive agriculture where excess chemical is used.

I just dislike profusely the scammers and am surprised by the nievity of the masses who can't see the motive. You got me dead wrong buddy!

                    Forage,

Many of us with 'grey hair' have learned to sniff out a scam... we have had to to remain farming.

The vast majority of grain growers know about the good bugs that take out the bad ones... crop competition, and how to live at peace with nature whenever possible. S02, C02, methane, there are many air quality issues we monitor. When the hockey stick is clearly distorted... and anyone with an ounce of common sense can see the suns overwhelming influence on temps down here.... to claim we have a significant input into future climate matters (Not air quality issues we are directly responsible for) smells of a scam. We put C02 in green houses to increase productivity. In the age of dinosaurs c02 was 5x now.

"Dinosaurs that roamed the Earth 250 million years ago knew a world with five times more carbon dioxide than is present on Earth today, researchers say, and new techniques for estimating the amount of carbon dioxide on prehistoric Earth may help scientists predict how Earth's climate may change in the future."

                    Dinosaur Era Had 5 Times Today's CO2

Do humans affect the climate? Yes of course... we are a part of the system... that is to be expected.

I believe they calculate our carbon footprint based on PRODUCTION and not USE. We are so high because we produce the stuff for other people's consumption. If they based it on consumption alone, I believe that Canada would drop significantly. Why does Agrium get taxed for it's carbon output. The tax should be on the consumer of the food because they are the USER. The consumer can then justifiably tell Agrium to clean up its act. Fort McMurray should only be charged for it's carbon footprint to the tune of what it costs to produce the oil. The consumers that use the oil should pay for the bulk of the carbon tax. When this change is made, you may be able to convince me if the hypocrites are still singing the same tune once they pay.
