    Braveheart

Holy ****, in a generic sense he knows the answer. Whether you deal with P H or not its the same.

Why do your partners invent fertilizer shortages and 5 dollar basis as an excuse to steal ?

Extortion and collusion were against the law at one time.

If they use Mpls, convert to cdn dollars and minus the freight where is the extra basis coming from?

Considering that north Dakota basis is far less than ours, and their grain is moving, it seems we are back to the same problems. Just substitute any graincos name in place of the CWB.

Your buddy should understand that question as well.

It blows my mind how many owners and operators of multimillion dollar businesses, yes that's us, don't have a ****ing clue what competition, a requirement for an open market, looks like. I've won and I've lost in the "open market" that's life and another management skill needed to be a successful farmer. What pisses me off is the fact that even though I deal direct with mills in the states I can't get my product there. Meanwhile the vultures circle here ready to peck your asshole out at first opportunity. I hate to say it but we need about a three year widespread drought in western canada to teach everybody a little respect.

Braveheart you really nned to open your eyes I think. You think the grain cos. are your partners or that you are somehow part of a value chain?? Do you suppose that the grain cos. don't operate under the assumption that their competitor is their friend?? Time to take off the rose colored glasses......

What happens in af would never happen in other industries.

One time a contractor had built something wrong. When it was discovered it was made clear in no uncertain terms the contractor would pay production losses. They worked over Christmas to fix it at their cost.

Some Farmers just smile, bend over and say how pleasant the CEOs if grain companies are. Maybe they apply vaseline.

Bucket. You amaze me with your same comment over and over again about your perceived notion of people born into money. Do you hate anyone who you think has more money then you? Shows what a small pathetic person you really are. People should read your comments with this in mind

The open market is Walmart. The market braveheart and the graincos are in is like John deere. You don't decide who you buy new equipment from, John deere tells you.

You can walk into any Walmart and buy or return purchases.

If you buy from deere its on their terms not yours. Same with graincos.

Ok but I think you missed the point as usual. I loath people that are born into money and are treated like they know something. A perfect example is Justine Trudeau. Get it yet ? I could name a few more but I am not into that conversation today.

Attitudes on both sides of the farm lobby group better change quickly because I don't give a **** how much money you have it may disappear pretty quick with current climate we are in.

By climate I am referring to political, economic, environmental and marketing among others.

No takers or qualified people to replace Harper. So now look at the options.

It starts from that. Take your blinders off and quit flattering yourself that I am referring to you.

You are square on. Thx for writing it one more time.

We just came off two of the best years in history as grain growers.

Just like the Pools before uz... We are not the value chain... We are a link in the chain.

Noone takes one cent with them when they die. How many writing here are not wealthy by the standards of 95 percent of folks worldwide.

We don't work harder than those in the rest of our value chain... Every link must function for commerce to flow.

We learn to work with those around us and do the best to leave our farm and family in better shape than when we began.

                        Cheers
                        Have a great day.

                        Thx

So Tom, getting screwed by a pseudo government organization = bad. Getting screwed by big business = fantastic. I don't care who is standing between me and the world price. We all realize that we are but a part of the values chain but I guarantee you aside from a self induced cluster **** the grain Co and RR are not adding 40% of the value between me and the port.i don't know why so many have their blinders in to the structural problems are grain handling and transportation system has.

Some guys think that the current offloading of storage by the graincos onto the farmers is going to pay off.

It can't, the railways and grain handling has hit capacity at about a 20MMT export program.

That's all the CWB could push through it and the new players, sadly, are even more incompetent than the cwb.

Farmers think have a shiny row of bins for a snow fence helps the system, it can't because no grain handler has made provisions to handle the additional volumes off the farm.

Even if you store grain for 2 years and the additional storage comes into the system later, if the volume gets contracted at better prices, what has been done to handle it??

Nothing. the system needs a complete overhaul - it won't happen because of the people involved. The CTA review will take 2 years. So just get ready for two more years of this nonsense along with people defending it. It doesn't get the grain to port any faster or more efficiently.

The american sytem was developed to bring the grain to an moveable position. Guys are building storage there because the end users are closer and they can force higher prices by doing so. The also have better relationships with the end users who don't have that need to take 2-5 bucks a bushel in basis.

I doubt very many producers in North Dakota have to drive their grain a 3 hour round trip to find a buyer even with some of the problems they have had.

If our system is so awesome why aren't North Dakota and Montana farmers rushing the border?

                                Excellent question!.

My guess is that the price in Canadian funds they are laughing at us.

The only trip they are making is to buy more cheap wheat and resell it at a profit.
