    ..."worked for Hitler"

Take a look at Secan, Farmpure, Canterra, Pulse seed breeding... we have some of the most innovative farm based seed providers anywhere on the planet... here in Western Canada.

I am thankful for the great work these folks do.

A little balance in your perspective would help!

Cheers! We have never had better crops!

Why would I want to go backwards? Agree with Tom4cwb, farming as difficult as it is needs to look forward, move forward and get there. Getting sucked into the "worlds gonna end" propaganda kills forward thinking faster than any chemical company could...

What is important is to have the choice, and the legal right to use it.

We embrace new seed technology and can say it continues to make us money. I look forward to FHB resistant spring wheat so we can drop the fungicide on the head app.

Again I ask, what comes first, an end user reaching out for "heirloom" variety production, or producer driven push?

It's always about the money. If there is money in seed banks, etc., it will happen.

I agree schillnorthland, the fear based theory of companies like Monsanto who keep proposing that they are the ONE SIANT that can help people save the world from failure is hard to watch. In fact any power based oligopoly has to use this fear of the world ending or they would fail. Don't believe them schillnorthland, the world is not going to end if you don't follow Monsanto. Their is abundance on this planet and lots of options.

So where can someone buy corn seed that's not treated with neonicotinoids? No place around here.

The corps have made it almost impossible. We have also quit growing grain, and don't miss it at all. Watching the neighbours running on the treadmill of bigger bigger bigger just to survive doesn't appeal at all.

We will stick with the cattle. At least we don't need to pay a royalty when a calf is born.

              i never said go backwards.
              i am all for innovation.

but really we should all be looking ahead.

i do not think Monsanto or Corp.s
are out for world domination,(evil plan)
but when ran properly that is how they function .
              lawyers , lobbyist, PR etc.
gets the laws the co. want.

if it gets to the point that 2 or 3
corporations control every viable seed you can plant.

you , no matter how big , how successful, they own you
you may have climbed to the top of the ladder, just more for them to take.
              you pay what they say.

and if you say , well they are going to compete for your business.

just like the grain co.s competing for our business this winter.

remember , once the other choices are eliminated, nobody has to compete.

so there is nothing wrong with saving seeds.
              insuring farmers and consumer rights.
              in general covering our asses
