I think there are some exceptional crops in north west (?) area of Sask. Last year The farmers had a huge yield, about 35% more than usual. It looks to me like a carbon copy recipe so far. Maybe these guys will only break even...they could use the money. There are some very large, efficient, low cost producers around here so the economies of scale are in favour.

Hobby, they're not as low cost as they lead on. Do you farm between krydor and hafford?

AgriStability for some. SF3 , I feel your pain. In the 80's droughts, we were just like you, except Lentils pulled us through. Therefore my poker name is "Lentil". Too bad so many Lentils are wiped out this year.

Hobbyfrmr what were you smoking when drove to St. Brieux or did you make the drive in the dark? I just took a drive from St. Brieux to Melfort and it is a disaster. Quarter after quarter of Canola that likely won't fill a tandem truck at harvest time. Stunted wavy yellow cereals a foot tall that are heading. Quarters of Canola along highway 368 with 80-90 acre patches drowned out. Absolutely no way the remaining foot tall Canola growing in these fields is going to yield over 80 bushels an acre to make up for the lost acres. 8 bushels maybe.
