    How late for Greenfeed

Wonder how late greenfeed can be seeded and what a guy should seed. Had some wet acres might be able to do something in a few days. Would like to dry it out by planting something and maybe make a few bucks giving it out to bale.

Should still be time. Might be too cool this summer for good millet. Try oats, variety Baler. Just make sure to cut before frost or high nitrates might lock in, especially if you already have N in place for crops that didn't get seeded.

At least you'll have a cover crop, suck out some water and hopefully make some cash.

Unity wheat and forage pea mix. Cut at first sign of heading... Same quality as alfalfa first cut higher yield.

That sounds like a good mixture. Why Unity? Volume? Leaf?

You also might want to consider winter wheat. You can cut it Sept 1 and have a crop seeded for next year.

            A Thought.

            Cheers

Solid stemmed. Won't loose as much volume in the bale.

Any solid stemmed wheat would do.
