We'll every one knows that our area has been in flood mode for years. Now almost a foot of water in two weeks then throw in hail.
Peas are a crop we grow and usually sell 20 bushels at harvest for a locked in price. We'll act of god was dropped missed that, read your contracts. So now we have to go to the market and by our contract out. Cost close to 10,000.00.
So it will come from hail insurance. But the next problem will be flax contracts done at higher values and with the poorer flax crop buying these out May get very expensive.
But here is my problem, these contracts are only good for one group. That's the grain company.
Last years wheat oats and barley contracts that were still filling had no compensation for their neglect on taking our grain. Yea if you wanted out they gladly let you out.
Canola contracts will also be a problem if guys pre sold more than their production.
Just another shit show with excess rain.
