    I always was interested in his practices…. this year we did them on wheat.

    Wow.

    Way less fertilizer at seeding and growing the same yield… just different staging.


    Will see what harvest time looks like. Hmm…..

        That video explains lots...

        Basically grow yield not plant matter... we have wheat next to neighbour... looked like shit till it headed. Ours is a ft shorter 10 more heads a foot. And all heads are longer.


        Kind of like growing alfalfa for seed... you don't want bushy plants you want pissed off plants that set seed.



        Also doing trials in canola... Ausssie studies have found 3 to 6 bpa increase in yield with n applied at the end of flowering.... causes larger seeds.

          Sounds like basic agronomy. Row spacing discussion is useless if they are even considering less than 7.5.

          As a native I'm really sick of Europeans coming here telling us how we are not as smart as them.

          I like to keep an open mind but, I can't believe they're paying this guy for this?

              Klause, I can't remember if it was stoller or omex but one of them were testing a finishing product. It was basically something like a C3 plus a about 40# of N at the end of flower. Apparently it's common practice in Europe.

                What happens when we get back to conditions during the eighties and I called the Praries a "Glorified Desert"? All the technology, chemical and fertilizer can't grow a crop without some moisture. Depending on what part of Europe your using, can you even make a fair comparison to Canadian conditons.

                  Needham does a lot of work in the us plains and Australia.


                  12 spacing and 6 spread yields more in cereals than 1 spread.... Works out to 6 spacing.... well documented

                      I know. They are terrible. Worse than thr rotten peas across the road.

                      Our canola is even more spindly and shitty than the spindly shitty crap next to it.

                      Our peas won't make 20 bushels I don't think. They turned all white and stuff


                      Our wheat is so shitty. Can't believe the plants are even standing they are so spindly and short.

                        My rye got 40# of N down the pipe and 45# at jointing. I think it ran out of steam just before the second app but it's still 4-5 feet tall. The heads aren't quite as big as the hybrid winter rye at Scott but I think mine is thicker and only about a week behind. Should have sprayed it with Banvel to try and shorten it.

                              I wouldnt pretend to know as much about this stuff,but does anyone remember an old producer article from years ago where i guy was saying he would jack his wheat seeding rate,let the crop starve for nitrogen so it didn't tiller,then hammer on the nitrogen and then get mind blowing yields?
