They ran the Liberals too. More influence than you can imagine. They're there through govt change. Same people after a cabinet shuffle.

What's more, the civil servants in finance are the ones really behind the ag policy you get. I saw the Deputy Minister of Finance tell the National Safety Nets meeting what was eligible and in eligible expenses for purpose of margin calculations. Finance had already figured out how to fit the risk management programs into the money they wanted to slot in for it. This was a Liberal govt.

Yes, I voted for Harper. I'd do it again. Until someone better comes along he's the only one capable of running the country.

It's been run into the ground since 1867. No matter who was the figurehead. Somehow, the tribe endures.

Last I checked this was about Marketing and risk management.

The art of the possible to improve our skills is a good use of time and worthy discussion.

Pain and adversely are a natural part of the farm community.

I can't do anything about this.

We can prepare our marketing plan to make the best of farming risks.

Saying I am sorry about your business does nothing to learn better planning or risk management.

            Mock me.

            Swear at me.

Take lemons and make Lemonade is better.

I had hoped we could learn from our experience and move forward with constructive practice.

Stating that Minister Ritz does not support us is false. Billions are spent each year.

Personal Responsibility will be as it has been in the past... The key to prosperity.

Redistribution of other people's prosperity confiscated isn't going to solve your problem in the long term on the ground.

            We do our best.

I hope that includes learning better management.

Swearing at ideas that could help seems less than constructive...

As I have said before many times I hope you have a good harvest.

            Be safe.

We are blessed Here in Canada.

We are what we make of ourselves.

            Cheers

Tom, you're missing the point that government IS involved in agriculture. Rightly or wrongly that isn't going to change anytime soon so let's at least try to get it right. You deem determined to die on the sword of personal accountability yet when I suggest that the government allocated funds for insurance and support programs be redirected to risk management tools of the producers discretion you ridicule me. What gives? Is that too much accountability for you. I know if I used the funds the government claims they contribute to CI and other programs plus what I currently spend on crop insurance, hail insurance and hedging loosing money wouldn't even be an option. That said I don't be leave in ad-hoc government bailouts, for any industry. The only exception would be those poor guys that the Manitoba government keeps sacrificing for the benefit of Winnipeg, they should be duels compensated.

                Breaveheart

You keep bringing up what the Liberals did with regard to Ag. Have you forgotten the Harper CPC have been in power for eight years.

You keep defending Ritz and blame the civil servants for all the problems with regard to Ritz's poor performance as an AG minister. Ritz is the man in charge and is reponsiable for what happens with regard to Ag policies. That's where the buck stops.

Braveheart it's time to stop blaming others and deflcting the true issue with regard to the flooded farmers. Let's all face it, it's all about HARPER getting a balance budget before the next election nothing more. I hope farmers will remember this in 2015.

As for you defending Tom4CWB, from what I read of his posts he seems to take pleasuse in other farmers misery. His posts seem to do nothing more than antagonize other posters. Judging from the responces he gets from other poster's, he brings out the worst in them. This is not a becoming characteristic. I personally don't understand what he's trying to accomplish. Tom than ends his posts with Cheers of God Bless You. Not quit sure what that's all about. It's somewhat twisted.

Tom read your posted response. See how small minded you really are.
Yes it's a post about marketing and all spring I was saying this crop might get seeded but we need no rain till July in sask. Some laughed and said I know nothing quit complaining etc. I said one rain event and were back to a flood year again. We'll that started about farm progress show and then the foot of water. Take and put 8 years of more rain tan some parts of BC now add a foot of water on your land. Think out side of the box. Alberta isn't that great. What did I read 10 billion in debt year your province is run by real intelligent people.
But it's your ignorance at what is happening to fellow farmers that I just can't get my head around. Farmers like your self that had years of normal crops big yields and prospered. But this is now being going on for 8 years. The fed programs don't work. Yes crop insurance gets you to stay afloat. But really that's all it does. You lose acres your average drops on yield.
Years ago I thought you understood agriculture but now it's a attitude if it's not happening to me I don't care.
Remember tommy what goes around comes around.
Oh yea saying cheers tells all us farmers that are folded just how ignorant you are.

                    Tom!

I hope you have a good harvest!

Boy. If your flooded and have 45 acres left on 160 acres explain hope you have a good harvest.

Again ignorance at what has happened.

                    Learn from your mistakes.

Again no understanding of what happened and how large a area is effected. Drop 200 to 300 % of normal rainfall of water from red deer to peace to Lloyd year for 8 years then in two days drop that much rain and tell me how your doing.
This isn't a little hail storm that hit and gave you 10% hail loss.
Or it hasn't rained for a week the crops need a drink.
Then you compare Iowa to us. Wtf. The most subsidized farmers in the world to Canada.
Really I'm starting to believe you have no idea at all.
You maybe should run for politics.

Tom is in church today. All will be forgiven.

Every country in the world supports their farmers.

Canada with advisors like tom talking to Ritz, ignores the farmers in canada.

We have no infrastructure to move out the crop Ritz is selling all over the world thru trade agreements. Stupid. And really incompetent.

For the record, I've never had a card to any party. Even when friends stood for nomination. I have to remain non partisan in terms of my name on lists.

I have voted for the Green Party before, when the incumbent was a PC, and was a tool.

John A. McDonald hung Riel. Our family voted Liberal for generations. Some still do.

My experience with the current Liberals are that they are an entitled bunch of no talents.

But, sorry to disappoint, no CPC membership.
