On "religion".... even Muslim extremists "believe" their morals and beliefs are right.

    I prefer spiritual.....

There is NO proof of anything other than what you see around you....enjoy the stay it is very short in the grand scheme of things.

There will always be times of adversity and prosperity in Canadian Ag but how we approach and handle them will determine our level of serenity. As hard as it may be at times, keep an attitude of gratitude. Worry about the things you can control and not so much about those you cannot. Be real and don't fool yourself either into thinking things are better than they are (false gratitude). Things don't always seem fair or just but it is my choice how I react to them. Make the best of ALL situations.

Now to heed my own advice and practice what I preach....perfection will be attained upon death ;-)

Braveheart. Exactly, it's the people who don't lose a job on election night who get policy from A to Z. Alberta's elite are so entrenched they're as rotten as Rome.
Sask3 and Tom. You're sniping at each other from different world views. I choose to respect both of you but support neither.
With a good degree of luck, I have slightly over a decade left of making lemonade from lemons. With even more luck, I'll have something left to live on for the 4 years after that I'll live using Dad as a guideline.
Somehow, I care less every year about the griping, especially from the 'new nobility'.

To SK3: claiming things like you got 200-300% annual rainfall for 8 years in a row is what undermines your credibility. Its called crying wolf.

To bucket: "Every country in the world supports their farmers" with the implication "...except Canada" is simply untrue. Lots of places support farmers less financially and in lots of other places farmers are held in way less esteem compared to Canada.

We'll grass it's been not just a little wet but every time you turn around a inch for 8 years. The only one whose credibility is undermined is you.
Then close to a foot of rain in a two day period.
Wtf do you just think we're all dreaming when we say it's unbelievably wet.
Oh wait you don't believe it so I guess it's correct.
Get out of your little part of the world and travel and see what's out their.
I guess the tv must be wrong with the pictures it's showing.
Oh yea the moon walk was fake also.
The whole point to this thread is were told by Ottawa your problem deal with it we don't care. Ritz advisors like tom tell him all is fine and because it's not happening in our back yard who cares.
Do any of you realize that were over wet and Alberta and western Sask. has been growing record crops since our floods hit. Coincidence, we get back to normal and your back to normal.
Tom can preach all he wants but by his replies it's easy to see he couldn't give a shit if fellow Canadian farmers were getting wiped out, by Mother Nature. Manage that.

And I see from charlies post from last summer you were talking the same bullshit then. Sure it's wet where you are but claiming its been 2 or 3 times the normal moisture is just untrue. No argument because your facts don't back you up.

So your saying I'm wrong that a huge area has received more rain than ever before!
My god man get out if your little hole and take a drive!
Plus Charlie is full of shit with his post! All the stars lined up last year!
Pretty hard to make a crop come back to life that's dead

Grass farmer last year we were on our way to a great canola crop. This year fields are done flowering 8 days after they start and you can still see the seed rows.

sF3 is right... this year there is major flooding. And it won't come back.

Claiming different is being ignorant of the news...

                  Sf3

We have had low 20's Canola when you had rain... Shucks 40mi away they had farm averages over 50.

This is western Canada. Variable crops are normal overall.

You must know this by now.

                  All the best.

Tom again you just keep showing how you don't get it.
We had 20 a few years ago and 40 miles away had 50.
Try 250 miles away. This is a huge area that has been hit not like a hail storm that takes a few quarters.
